The P.E NATION X ASICS EX89™ MT comes as part of our latest P.E NATION x ASICS Collection.P.E Nation reimagines the iconic ASICS EX89™ MT sneaker with design influences that stem from classic tennis motifs.It has been updated with textured mesh underlays, double laces, signature P.E colour block and clash, and oversized ASICS Stripes in ghost overlay. The EX89™ sneaker blends the heritage influences of the GEL-EXTREME basketball shoe from 1989. It was originally created by Toshikazu Kayano in the late 1980s as his first design project with ASICS.The original high-top design was reworked with a mid-cut construction and colour palettes that resemble an aged vintage look. An updated cushioning system features FF BLAST™ technology which is met with a sculpted heel shape to improve underfoot comfort during everyday scenarios. The outsole’s pattern mirrors the view of a city from the sky. This functional grip feature was initially inspired by the shoe designer’s first business trip to the United States in 1987.
